SRNA Announces Name Change to DTNA

Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. (SRNA) announces today that, as a part of the acquisition of Dunlop Tires, the “R.I.S.E. 2035” corporate strategy, and ONE DUNLOP concept, the company will change its name from Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. to Dunlop Tires North America Inc. (DTNA) starting in January 2026. Other global Sumitomo subsidiaries will also adopt the Dunlop name.

Dunlop Tires North America’s parent company, Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI), based in Kobe, Japan, finalized a $735 million deal to purchase Goodyear’s rights to the Dunlop brand in May. Both SRI and Goodyear previously controlled Dunlop as part of a global alliance that ended in 2015, with each company retaining certain regional rights. This purchase by SRI allows the Dunlop trademark and other rights for four-wheel tires in Europe, North America, and Oceania.

In a statement, SRI announced that the name changes for its subsidiaries aim to enhance the Dunlop brand's global value. Under the ONE DUNLOP concept, the international name changes and alignment are aimed at further strengthening the brand’s competitive position, creating a consistent customer experience, and solidifying Dunlop as the centerpiece of SRI’s global business.

Dunlop Tires North America, in alignment with SRI, will build trust by expanding its premium product line, actively participating in motorsports, leveraging the dynamic images of sports such as tennis and golf to increase brand favorability, and addressing social issues through high- value-added products. Through innovative technologies and services, DTNA will continue delivering new experiences to customers in North America and solidify its position as a premium brand.

Dunlop Tires North America Inc., based in Rancho Cucamonga, California, will be primarily responsible for replacement and original-equipment sales of Dunlop Tires, Dunlop Motorcycle Tires, and Falken Tires.
